Identifying Signs of Bed Bug Infestations

Bed bugs are tiny and often hide in mattresses and under bedding, so they aren’t as easy to spot as other types of pests.

Typically, you do not even need to see the bugs themselves to know you have an infestation.

Bed bugs can be identified by the painful bites and itchy red welts they leave behind. You may also notice tiny dark red or brown blood spots on your sheets.

Bed bugs are often found on or near:

  • Beds and mattresses
  • Bedding
  • Bed frames or headboards
  • Electrical outlets
  • Other bedroom furniture
  • Pictures on the wall
  • Carpeting
  • Baseboards
  • Luggage

Our Ithaca bed bug control specialists have extensive training and knowledge of pest behavior to accurately identify bed bugs and other pests.

We start with a thorough inspection to verify the presence of bed bugs and get an idea about the extent of the problem.

We will explain your options for treatment and employ safe and effective methods that get rid of the infestation and can help prevent bed bugs from returning in the future.
